[SOLVED] Can debug on Linux but not on Windows lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-07-11 08:10 I can debug/step through the code on Linux but not on Windows - get an error message that debugger cannot set breakpoint, perhaps cannot find debug info. Have tried with Laz trunk & Laz 1.2.4, both x86. Attached full project. What have I done wrong? Thanks, BigChimp ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2014-07-11 08:29 had that a couple of times has nothing to do with your project and everything to do with the debugger, try to set the break point after the debugging has began. I do not really know why it happens I remember something about multi threading going wrong mostly inside the debugger not your application. EDIT : timing plays a strong role so try to add the break point in variable intervals. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-07-11 08:36 Thanks taazz, but no go... Removed all breakpoints, added a sleep(5000) at the beginning of the code. Ran it, immediately QuoteDebugger error Oops, the debugger entered the error state... ... The debugger could not set a breakpoint on the application's entry point. This may be caused by missing debug info. The GDB command: "-break-delete 4" did not return any result. so no chance to even set a breakpoint... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-07-11 08:43 Went through the debugger tips page again and set -Xe (external linker) which works... so apparently the internal linker has a bug that manifests itself in this case. Thanks for the help, Taazz! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BigChimp · 2014-07-12 09:34 Mmm, I reported it on http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=26470 who knows, it might help in finding out the cause...
