heaptrc: Total Mem alloced: -1 Leaking Mem Size: 0 Leaking Blocks Count: 0 lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Evadido · 2014-05-11 11:29 Hi, I'm trying to debug my app, and I think I set up all correctly for using heaptrc. Everytime the program starts, deletes the "heap.trc" file and creates again, containing only the complete path for the executable file. If I open the tools/leakview window, it only shows that: Total Mem alloced: -1 Leaking Mem Size: 0 Leaking Blocks Count: 0 My platform is: ubuntu 13.10 32 bits, lazarus 1.0.10. What I'm doing wrong? Thank you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Evadido · 2014-05-15 16:21 BUMP! nobody? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaazen · 2014-05-15 16:43 Until now I didn't know what leakview is. I (and probably many people here) use View -> Debug Windows -> Terminal Output. Here I get output like this: Code: [Select]Heap dump by heaptrc unit 4242 memory blocks allocated : 1741043/1748960 4242 memory blocks freed     : 1741043/1748960 0 unfreed memory blocks : 0 True heap size : 655360 True free heap : 655360I tried to install leakview package only for you but it gives me no output at all. Maybe it's under development. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2014-05-15 16:52 Leakview does not actually (yet) catch the output. But if you have a leak, you can load it in leakview, and it will show you the traces produced by heaptrc. It will allow you to double click, and jump to source. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- engkin · 2014-05-15 16:59 Quote from: Evadido on May 11, 2014, 01:29:34 pmI think I set up all correctly for using heaptrc. How? http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,23406.msg139822.ht ml#msg139822 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2014-05-15 17:02 http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/leakview#Enabling_heaptrc_in_Lazaru s Let me add at this point that after you exit your application and open the leak view dialog (options\Leak view) you need to open the file just created to see the report it is not automatically opened for you at least not the first time on the same note make sure that the file shown in the leak view dialog is the one you want to see and not some left over from a previous session. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Evadido · 2014-05-15 18:20 Sorry, I forgot something almost insignificant... called DumpHeap...  Please forgive me all for misusing your time
