Help Debugger stopped working lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- userx-bw · 2014-01-27 22:44 I was adding break points on and it worked, then I went into the project options and changed a few things like target platform to Linux and stuff then it shows the red line when you add it but when I run it that line goes to green and does not stop there anymore, I have no idea what I did and what green means. pictures added to try and help you figure it out for me. thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2014-01-27 22:47 you have probably turned off the generation of debug information on project options\debugging page. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- userx-bw · 2014-01-27 22:52 Quote from: taazz on January 27, 2014, 11:47:18 pmyou have probably turned off the generation of debug information on project options\debugging page. under linking options because it was and is on pic included ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2014-01-27 23:00 Check: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Debugger_Setup I noted smartlinking being on. That may cause issues with debugging. depends on the linker The breakpoint is disabled, as the debugger was unable to set it. Also the absence of the blue dots means either: - the line info (or even more debug info) is missing - The procedure was not included in the exe (smart linker took it out) - procedure is in-lined / can not be debugged Also: external dbg info should work, but receives little testing. Try do disable the 2 options: - use external debug info - strip debug info from exe ---------------------------------------------------------------------- userx-bw · 2014-01-27 23:05 Quote from: Martin_fr on January 28, 2014, 12:00:03 amCheck: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Debugger_Setup I noted smartlinking being on. QT or GTK. The line numbers should not look like this, there should be no light grey lines between numbers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- userx-bw · 2014-01-27 23:15 Quote from: Martin_fr on January 28, 2014, 12:06:28 amWhich linux are you using? GTK -- its working again thanks -- I think it was what you said about the uncheck them 2 suggestions because I just did the ole' when you have no idea how to fix it just un-install it then wipe everything that has to do with it out then start over by re-installing it again trick
