debugging help lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- userx-bw · 2014-01-21 13:38 I am having problems with setting a radio group Enabled state where I code it to radioGroup.Enabled = true. but it keeps showing  FALSE on the form when it shows TRUE in the console when it is being fired from a button. From a different area where I  have it set to changed from TRUE to FALSE then back again in an onclick from other RadioGroup's that works no problem. on the form it will go from enable to not enabled the way it is suppose to in the onClick event. But, when I use in this button to set it back to TRUE and select one option in the RadioGroup in the console it shows Enabled = TRUE but on the form it stays FALSE not being able to use it. So then I tried this. In code, I set it to RadioGroup.Enabled := FALSE. then on the next line I set it back to  RadioGroup.Enabled := TRUE it worked one time then went right back to doing what it was doing before, showing TRUE in the console but on the form it was not true, blanking the radioGroup out so that I could not use it.  SO I thought I'd just run it through the debugger putting in the Watch List the expression RadioGroup.Enabled so I could see what state is it in and where to try and see why it stays not Enabled on the form and shows Enabled TRUE in the console using writeln(RadioGroup.Enable). So I just put in the expresion the same way I used it in writeln  RadioGroup.Enabled and  all I get is: Code: [Select]Type TRadioGroup has no component named Enabled Question: how do I set the watch list to show the values of the properties for a component? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2014-01-21 14:17 http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/GDB_Debugger_Tips#Properties *IF* it is stored in a field, then FEnabled will do. (or even using "dwarf" in the debugger settings) The problem is that, IF Enabled is a function, then it needs to called. GDB currently does not know how to do that, so this can not be done for now. Sometime in the future.... If you encounter such properties, then use the Editor to look at the Code, and find out where the Value comes from, and watch those values instead. e.g sometimes "TList.Count" is "TList.FList.FCount" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- taazz · 2014-01-21 14:22 and in your case fenabled will do fine I think.
