how do you use the debugger to debug only one .pp file? lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jshand2010 · 2013-01-06 22:28 need to know how to do this because sysutils.pp has 20 errors in it. thanks for your help ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2013-01-06 22:39 What errors do you get? Do you mean, how to control to which files to add debug info? (So the debugger can set breakpoints and show variables?) You can specify the compiler directives (-g ) for each package. To cherry pick files will be a lot of work, and there should be no damage, if there is to much debug info. SysUtils is part of the RTL. This normally has no debug info. The RTL can not be rebuild from the IDE. If you want to debug SysUtils, then you must download fpc (the version that comes with lazarus, does not have any make files, and you will need them). You then must rebuild the entire RTL (easiest to build the entire fpc) using the makefiles. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2013-01-07 14:19 Are you trying to compile the file manually? sysutils is low level just like system unit, it links to OS API mostly, so the content is scattered over include files. You can't simply compile the unit without giving path to those include files, and maybe you'll need to define some symbols.
