How debug standard files lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Borneq · 2012-05-06 09:47 For example go into list.Add(nil); (list: TList;) ? Is possible browsing standard files but I can't go into with debugger. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- exdatis · 2012-05-06 10:02 I'm not sure I understand the question, but you can use the breakpoint(F8  step over, F7 step in, mouse over the text of variable to see value ). Regards. p.s. also you can use  ShowMessage(String)  to read the value(with the explicit conversion if necessary). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-05-06 10:28 Yes it is possible, but it requires some work. You need to recompile the files for that function and add debug info. Many sources are organized as packages that have an option dialog, and can be compiled from the IDE. e.g: TButton > package LCL; SynEdit > package "SynEdit", ... TList is part of the RTL (which is part of the FPC sources). It con NOT be rebuild from inside the IDE. You need to download the *full* fpc sources, and build and install them. The official doc:  http://www.stack.nl/~marcov/buildfaq.pdf The quick path: http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,16 650.msg91611.html#msg91611 Read the entire thread, and the wiki linked.... BTW this is windows. on linux, after installing your own build, you must ensure, fpc is not using any files from the global install.... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-05-06 10:33 QuoteYou need to download the *full* fpc sources, and build and install them.with debugging info enabled. e.g. pass OPT=-g to make.
