[SOLVED] how to configure "debug output" window - need console output only. lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mvampire · 2012-01-05 19:47 Dear forum members. Thankfully, Lazarus now has 'Debug output' window, where I can see console output of my console application during debugging on Linux (Lazarus 0.9.30.2RC2, Ubuntu 10.04 amd64, FPC 2.4.4). But, when I start debugging, I become a lot of extra messages in the 'debug output window'. But what I need - only messages, which my console application writes to console! Do You have any idea how to configure it? Thank You very much in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TurboRascal · 2012-01-07 08:55 You must open it in terminal, a procedure is described here: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Console_Mode_Pascal#Run_in_IDE On an unrelated note, why use that obsolete RC version? 0.9.30.2 final is out for some time... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mvampire · 2012-01-07 12:17 Yes, I have read about the terminal. But I'm interested to see it inside IDE Like written in the wiki (http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Console_Mode_Pascal#Run_in_IDE): QuoteAlternatively, using Lazarus 0.9.31 or up (on Linux only): In the "View" menu, under "Debug Windows" there is an entry for a "console output" to view stdout I use 0.9.30.2RC2, because of http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=20915 I have download SVN snapshot of RC2 (I have not found tagged final version in the repository) and compiled it, and I use it without installation into the system. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-01-07 13:36 http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Debugger_Console_App 0.9.30.X You can either: - disable the debugger and set a starter-app (xterm or similar) - use the debugger and live with the mixed output Actually the following might work: http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/ Debugger_Console_App#Debugger_startup_options 0.9.30.1 On Linux (but not Mac) has a window for the command line output ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mvampire · 2012-01-07 15:59 Clear. Can I ask then if there are plans to add an option to disable debugger output (and leave only stdout) in this window while debugging? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2012-01-07 16:14 Quote from: mvampire on January 07, 2012, 04:59:44 pmClear. Can I ask then if there are plans to add an option to disable debugger output (and leave only stdout) in this window while debugging? That is exactly what you have in 0.9.31. There are 2 Windows (while debugging a console app): - Debug output: shows the gdb stuff and only the gdb stuff - Console: Shows the output of your app (and only the output). Allows to type input to your app too. The console Win currently only exists for Linux: - On windows there is a separate console anyway (has always been there) - On Mac, it is currently not known how to implement this. If someone knows, it will be added. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mvampire · 2012-01-08 12:30 Quote from: Martin_fr on January 07, 2012, 05:14:30 pmThat is exactly what you have in 0.9.31.
