Getting routine name lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alter · 2009-12-19 01:13 My application crashes. In code I can easily read stack addresses to backtrace problem. Question is is it possible to learn which routine contains specified address? Of course in code (not from IDE) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2009-12-19 11:48 If you have an unstripped original with debug info (-gl), it should be possible on cmdline GDB. Doing it yourself pretty much amounts to writing a binary loader. Not trivial ---------------------------------------------------------------------- alter · 2009-12-19 16:08 Yes, but I was thinking about doing this to generate more detailed crash reports but I can't expect all users to have knowledge of gdb (I know that I can do it with gdb) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2010-01-10 12:30 Quote from: alter on December 19, 2009, 05:08:07 pmYes, but I was thinking about doing this to generate more detailed crash reports but I can't expect all users to have knowledge of gdb (I know that I can do it with gdb) You can hook the traceback generation. Essentially you just copy unit lineinfo, and make it output to a file, the eventlogging service or whatever instead of stdio. See the src of lineinfo to see how it works
