How can I trace my code only lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- emilt · 2009-02-07 18:09 Lazarus 0.9.26 on Windows XP 32 bit I am new to Lazarus, have some experience with older Delphi. I am trying to debug my code using the trace into/trace over options. But I don't want to step into any of the standard FPC/LCL units. IIRC Delphi used to do just that - step into my code only. That seems to me a stupid question, but I've lost several hours already trying to figure it out from the online documentation. Please help! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-02-07 19:28 You have to recompile the fpc and lcl units without debug information. IIRC, the fpc units distributed with Lazarus are compiled without debug information. To recompile the LCL without debug information, go to Tools -> Configure Build Lazarus. On the advance tab set all to part to (none), except for the LCL, set that to Clean+Build. In the options add -g-. Now rebuild the LCL. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- emilt · 2009-02-08 07:55 Thank you very much! It works now, only from time to time I get these dialog boxes saying like "Execution paused Address: $00416FC1 Procedure: FORMS_TCUSTOMFORM_$__CREATE$TCOMPONENT$$TCUSTOMFORM File: (Some day an assembler window might popUp here " The address and the procedure are different each time of course. It might be that they show only when the cursor is in the project file (.lpr), but I am not sure. Could I do something about that too? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-02-08 08:18 Maybe you caused an exception in the LCL. You must try to prevent. Maybe you can find from where it is called using the stack view (Ctrl- Alt-S). If you found a bug in the LCL, then you must recompile without the -g-, so we can have more information about the error location.
