problem with local variables (debug window)

Hi,
I am using lazaurs from the daily snapshot page.Since some versions I
can no longer see the content of local string variables. The debug
window only shows the address of the local variable. Integers and
floats show the content of the variable. (e.g. 0x811fcec. instead of
'hello world')
Did I misconfigure something or does anybody have another hint how to
resolve this issue?

please what is the exact svn revision you see this (and what OS) ?

both lazarus and fpc are 0.9.25 beta as of 2008-01-20. problem first
occured last year, cant't remember when, probably December ..
OS is SUSE Linux 10.3, with regular updates ...
