Unable to write "/usr/share/lazarus/2.2.6/docs/xml/lcl/forms.xml" lazarus / 12-Debugger ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rbart · 2023-12-03 10:10 Hi, My project works but, I get this message when debugging. Unable to write "/usr/share/lazarus/2.2.6/docs/xml/lcl/forms.xml" What to do? I am on Ubuntu 22.04. with Lazarus 2.2.6 Greetings, Rbart ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rbart · 2023-12-03 14:34 Getting it all the time when coding now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2023-12-03 14:37 I have no idea. But this is a file from the documentation. The only thing that I can think of is the build in fpdoc editor. Check if you have that window open? Menu: View > FpDoc Editor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rbart · 2023-12-03 16:25 FPDoc Editor is open. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rbart · 2023-12-03 16:27 There's nothing in there ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rbart · 2023-12-04 08:06 Could it be related with the autocomplete function in the IDE? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2023-12-04 09:28 Quote from: Rbart on December 03, 2023, 05:25:41 pmFPDoc Editor is open. Does the issue go away, if you close it (and maybe restart the IDE (and keep it closed)? The fact that is is empty, only means there is no entry in the file for that particular keyword. There may still be a xml file open. I don't know if FpDoc would (or should) try to (re-)save the file, if you haven't edited any of the entries (assuming you haven't). But easiest way to find out is to close it (restart the IDE with it closed before, so it really is closed) and see if the error still happens. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wp · 2023-12-04 11:34 When the FPDoc editor is open it will always try to write to the xml file - this is very annoying because it destroys preformatted xml. Not 100% sure if this is true also when the file has not yet been created explicitely ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2023-12-04 13:26 It is simply a rights issue. You have no rights to write to that folder. Easy to fix in many ways.
