/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lfbclient

In compiler options (-Fl) I included the path to the firebird client
library libfbclient.so.2.1.2 in /usr/lib/firebird/lib/, but this is
not helpful. Any clues?

did you try to make a link libfbclient.so.2.1.2 to libfbclient.so

You can use ln command, it is the short of link.

ln -s <source file> <destination file>
