Suppressing Run Time Warnings handled in Code. lazarus / 11-Options ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SlackBrane · 2008-11-24 16:29 If I am using a Try/Finally statement and trapping the errors in code... Where is the bit in the IDE that allows me to suppress the system warnings when they get excited about something about to suck the world into a black hole? ....  :?:    3:Try         If StrToInt(Cells[Col,Row])< 0 Then         begin           MessageDlg('0[%]-100[%]',mtError,[mbOK],0);           Cells[Col,Row]:='0';         end         Else         If StrToInt(Cells[Col,Row])> 100 Then         begin           MessageDlg('0[%]-100[%]',mtError,[mbOK],0);           Cells[Col,Row]:='100';         end;         Finally         begin           MessageDlg('Invalid Character',mtError,[mbOK],0);           Cells[Col,Row]:='0';         end;       end; Apologies for being useless. Keith ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SlackBrane · 2008-11-26 14:51 Ooooooops... My messup, I think 4:Try       If Cells[Col,Row] <> '' Then       If StrToInt(Cells[Col,Row])< 0 Then       begin         MessageDlg('0[%]-100[%]',mtError,[mbOK],0);         Cells[Col,Row]:='0';       end       Else       If StrToInt(Cells[Col,Row])> 100 Then       begin         MessageDlg('0[%]-100[%]',mtError,[mbOK],0);         Cells[Col,Row]:='100';       end       Else       With MyPanelRecord do       With EditArray[Length(EditArray)-1] do       begin         PercentWidth := StrToInt(Cells[1,4]);         Left         := Padding+PanelWidth*PercentLeft div 100;         Width        := PanelWidth*PercentWidth div 100 - Padding*2;       end     Except       MessageDlg('Invalid Character',mtError,[mbOK],0);     end;               Because I was not handling the exception the IDE(?) was 'flagging' it for me. Now that I am... It doesn't so I don't need to tell it not to. Closest 'makes sense to me' guess anyway. Carry on ignoring me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2008-11-26 15:51 You don't need exceptions for this. Have a look at:   TryStrToInt or   StrToIntDef ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SlackBrane · 2008-11-27 17:31 Thanks for those. For the moment I'll stick with my excessive typing and then, maybe, change my mind. It does seem to keep the various checks up front and in the same place so I'm probably wrong. :-)
