Maybe this step-by-step installation guide can help: https://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,39281.msg269012.h tml ---------------------------------------------------------------------- carondaniel1957 · 2018-02-21 16:48 Hi Handoko and thank you for your reply to my problem. I read and followed the install procedure you provided as this: Installed flawlessly fpc_3.0.4-2_amd64.debInstalled flawlessly fpc- src_3.0.4-2_amd64.debInstalled with an error lazarus- project_1.8.0-1_amd64.deb ERROR: The dependancy cannot be satisfied : fpc(=3.0.4)| fp-compiler ( 3.0.4). Any other ideas ?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Handoko · 2018-02-21 17:10 Have you tried third party tools like GDebi or Synaptic Package Manager to perform the installation? They can help you solve the dependency issue. I used Synaptic Package Manager. Sometimes it cannot automatically solves dependency issues but at least it will tell me which library causing the conflict. Simply uninstall the library, reboot the computer and re-perform the installation usually can solve the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- carondaniel1957 · 2018-02-21 22:01 Yes on both to add and remove plus in the CLI with apt autoremove and apt-purge ---------------------------------------------------------------------- del · 2018-02-22 02:19 I initially had problems with installing on Mint and solved them with an fpcupdeluxe installation: http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,34645.0.html But now I use the deb files. I click on them and let them do the installs - rather than have Synaptic Package Manager import the debs and do the installs. Good luck - but if you want to play right away consider the fpcupdeluxe option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- carondaniel1957 · 2018-02-25 00:56 I downloaded the fpcupdeluxe and the fpcup but what it does on my end is extract files and generte the .par2 but no menu entry to lauch it afterward. What do I do next then ?? I even installed the cinnamon destop environment to see if it woulr help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- carondaniel1957 · 2018-02-25 01:02 This is the screen I got now...no LCL in the IDE and a large coolbar
