Make sure the .ppu is either all lower case or else matches exactly the case specified in any unit that uses it. For the experiment change case to lower (file name, and all text entry in files). without changes: delphimodbuslazarus.pas(10,3) Fatal: Cannot find idmodbusclient used by delphimodbuslazarus, incompatible ppu=/usr/lib/lazarus/1.6/componen ts/delphimodbus/packages/lib/x86_64-linux/idmodbusclient.ppu, package delphimodbuslazarus ______________ Try use just "Indy". This may work for some time, but suddenly, after a little change, the packages will not install any more. The safest way to resolve this problem is to keep the individual packages (along with their sources) separately in different folders. Where is that package from? https://sourceforge.net/projects/delphimodbus/?source=typ_redirect? In this case, there is only one package, and only a few source files, and I think the explanation above is not valid here. But possibly Lazarus finds compiled files at places where they should not be. This will result in the same error message. Delete all compiler-generated files and try again. Try a clean build of Lazarus ("Tools" / "Configure Build Lazarus" / "Clean all" - check "Switch after building to automatic"). Compiler-generated files should only be in the lib folders of the packages (sometimes also labeled "units"). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2016-09-10 15:41 I had serious problems compiling indy with FPC because of the duplicate includefiles. As soon as I deduplicated the includefiles, the problem went away. The latest trunk seems to have gotten rid of this include file mess away. I was able to compile it in one go.
