Lazarus can not open any project file. (solved) lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dais · 2016-04-03 18:14 Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon and XFCE installations both have a same problem. Installed Lazarus from repository 1.0.10 with fpc 2.6.2, then there were leakview problem that I solved - thanks to this forum. But! I've got new problem - I run Lazarus, try to open some project file and it shows me: Access violation.  Press Ok to ignore and risk of data corruption. Press Cancel to kill the program. If I press Ok, nothing happens, just nothing. If I press Cancel, then Lazarus closes. What should I do to solve this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PeterX · 2016-04-03 18:41 [Edit] You do nothing else than open the Project ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Abelisto · 2016-04-03 19:26 Just as suggestion. It may be caused by Cynnamon itself. As you can see at your screenshot the directory with name starts by 'T' have no icon. Try to move it to some other location. I had the same problem and it helped. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dais · 2016-04-03 19:44 PeterX No, I did nothing. It was the first thing I wanted to do. Abelisto This particular screenshot is from XFCE installation, but I'll try your way.     Yes! It worked! I just removed Templates directory from my /home and now all things working. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Abelisto · 2016-04-03 20:04 Quote from: dais on April 03, 2016, 09:44:10 pmAbelisto This particular screenshot is from XFCE installation, but I'll try your way.     Yes! I just hope that somebody of Linux gurus will explain why it happening. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike.Cornflake · 2016-04-04 11:29 For your information, Lazarus 1.01 is an old version.   Nothing we can do about that, we're not the package maintainers for Ubuntu. If you don't want to build from scratch, then I'd use the rpm's from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus/files/ Personally I downloaded the FPC 3.0 rpm, then built Lazarus from SVN... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thaddy · 2016-04-04 12:13 Quote from: Mike.Cornflake on April 04, 2016, 01:29:03 pmFor your information, Lazarus 1.01 is an old version.   Nothing we can do about that, we're not the package maintainers for Ubuntu. For ubuntu I'd use the deb versions and not rpm. The rpm's don't easily convert with alien (well, it does with script conversion, but I am not support for alien) But anyway: use fpcup and / or fpclazup if you are not an advanced fpc user.
