Lazarus not starting up anymore

Lazarus 1.4RC3 - qt - 32bit/ Linux Mint 17.1 KDE - 32 bit

Hello,

currently I'm making my first steps with Lazarus under Linux. So far
all went fine until I tried to install the IBObjects Firebird access
packages. The packages are compiling, but after recompiling Lazarus,
the IDE is not starting up anymore. The splash screen is showing up
for a moment and that it was. Has the Lazarus IDE some kind of logging
mechanism to get an idea what the problem could be? I guess its not a
widget set problem, the same happens when compiling against gtk2. Also
there is no running process visible.

Also, you should have old executable in lazarus directory,
"../lazarus/lazarus.old". You can rename it and run.
