fpcup fast install to Lazarus 1.5 - works like a charm lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mai · 2015-02-08 16:42 fcpup works very well, all other install methods via apt, gdebi, .rpm, .deb are very broken. I used Mint 17.1 KDE . to work smoothly you should avoid installing ANY OF the component packages from the attached pic. They kill your IDE - i.e. IDE recompile is impossible due to missing stuff or whatever. Other components work, but some few may give you compile errors, on usage. make sure you "build clean" in such cases. I installed all packs and narrowed all "immediately broken" (i.e. IDE killer) packs to the below list. In order to be able to compile one must remove any of the "packs of death" IMHO. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2015-02-08 17:23 EducationLaz does not kill it, but only hide it (it's one of its feature): http://wiki.freepascal.org/Lazarus_for_education#Component_palette sqlite4laz will not trigger linking error if you have the appropriate library (sqlite, NOT sqlite3) installed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mai · 2015-02-13 19:01 my advice: stay away from all DOCKING components in Linux. They (or at least one of them) gives you the "floating site" problem, breaking the window prearrangement on IDE startup.
