Fullscreen FPC/LAZ app without X session lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- qdos · 2014-10-09 05:41 I need to make a kiosk-system type menu in FPC. At first I thought I had to use SDL or some other library - but someone said I could write normal windowing programs and execute them without the desktop (i.e, they run fullscreen). Is there some magic trick or param i need for this? I want linux to start as normal, but stop before the desktop is loaded/initialized. And instead run my application. Example: http://wiki.freepascal.org/MSEide_&_MSEgui#An_embedded_system There are more kiosk-type applications made with MSEgui. Julio for example made one for catering and touch screens. This product: http://www.acosys.co.id/screenshot has been made with MSEgui too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2014-11-07 17:24 Doesn't KDE have a kiosk mode? Also you can run a Lazarus app full screen without any borders etc so the user cannot exit out and if you are using a touch screen they won't be able to do alt-tab or other key combos to get out of full screen mode.
