Problems installation Linux 3.0.0-32-generic #51-Ubuntu

I downloaded and installed fpc, fpc-source and lazarus following the
instructions avaliable here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus/files/Lazarus%20Linux%20amd64%
20DEB/Lazarus%201.2.4/

When I start the Lazarus ide I get the following warning:
Warning: directory packager/globallinks not found

After I click Start IDE, everything seems normal , except that I'm not
seeing the components buttons at the top menu(the one with the
buttons, labels, text boxes ...). If I create a new project, choosing
the Application option, I get a blank form but unable to put anything
into it, if click the Run button I get the following error message:
project1.lpr(9,3) Fatal: Can not find unit Interfaces used by Project1
of the project inspector.

So, what am I doing wrong here?

Hey! I got it. I had an early version installed(0.9.3). When, at the
start, I changed the path to the directory of the current
version(1.2.4) it worked fine.
