Compiler error while rebuilding Lazarus in Linux

I'm trying to rebuild my Lazarus 1.2.2 installation on Linux & I'm
getting this compiler error which prevents me from rebuilding Lazarus

Code: [Select]/usr/share/lazarus/1.2.2/ide/lazarus.pp(141,1)
Error: Can't call the resource compiler "/usr/bin/fpcres", switching
to external mode

Can anyone help me out?

Does that file exist? Edit:
Code: [Select]ls -alh /usr/bin/fpcres
file /usr/bin/fpcres

If not, perhaps this helps
