SOLVED: Lazarus 1.2 IDE rebuilding error in Linux Mint 16 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2014-03-17 11:00 Hello there, I'm trying to update my Lazarus 1.2RC1 installation on Linux Mint 16 to Lazarus 1.2 I've uninstalled the old 1.2RC2 (except for fpc 2.6.2 & sources) and I installed 1.2 successfully. I can build test projects and so on. I'm now trying to install components & after compilation, when I try to rebuild the Lazarus IDE, I get the series of messages below and the rebuilding aborts: Code: [Select]/usr/bin/ld.bfd: warning: /usr/share/lazarus/1.2.0/link.res contains output sections; did you forget -T? /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lxml2 /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lgsf-1 /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lgdkglext-x11-1.0 Can anyone help me out with resolving this problem? Thanks, JD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2014-03-17 13:28 Anyone??? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2014-03-17 13:35 I do not know for sure. But it looks that some dependent packages are not installed. Afaik (but I do not know where exactly) the wiki has some help on this. Try the "lazarus website" (menu on left)  All on the bottom, there is a sink for each OS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zeljko · 2014-03-17 13:47 Quote from: JD on March 17, 2014, 02:28:36 pmAnyone???  You're missing -dev packages.I've just installed Mint16 and -> goto Synaptic package manager, search for libgtk2.0-dev mark it for installation (it will add dependencies) and install it. After that you'll have everything you need (don't tell me that it doesn't work, since I've just rebuilded lazarus 1.2 w/o problems (debs downloaded from sf page). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2014-03-17 17:16 Quote from: zeljko on March 17, 2014, 02:47:45 pmQuote from: JD on March 17, 2014, 02:28:36 pmAnyone???  You're missing -dev packages.I've just installed Mint16 and -> goto Synaptic package manager, search for libgtk2.0-dev mark it for installation (it will add dependencies) and install it. I already have libgtk2.0-dev installed as you can see from the attached screenshots. I tried reinstalling it & it still didn't work. Any ideas why it doesn't work. It worked very well for Lazarus 1.2RC1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zeljko · 2014-03-17 17:21 Then find and install dev packages from ld error: /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lxml2 (probably libxml2-dev) /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lgsf-1 (probably libgsf-1-dev) /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lgdkglext-x11-1.0 (probably libgdkglext-x11-1.0-dev) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JD · 2014-03-18 09:08 Quote from: zeljko on March 17, 2014, 06:21:51 pmThen find and install dev packages from ld error: /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lxml2 (probably libxml2-dev) /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lgsf-1 (probably libgsf-1-dev) /usr/bin/ld.bfd: cannot find -lgdkglext-x11-1.0 (probably libgdkglext-x11-1.0-dev) Works fine now thanks.
