Is anyone using QT widgt set on Kubuntu and seeing these issues? lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2012-09-23 18:02 Hi, Got Lazarus 1.0 up and running on Kubuntu 12.04 with QT widget set, but I am seeing some odd issues the editor. Using latest qt4pas bindings. 1. code that access a record pointer does not work with code completion, for example data^.  raises a error when you hit the .  (in windows right now and can't remember exact error) 2. selecting text causes a wave like effect on the selected text where the chars move to the right as you select the text. 3. The caret in the editor is off by a space, for instance mytest.test looks like this mytest .test ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2012-09-23 20:37 I don't think the caret (^) is a problem now. There is a font related problem with QT + Linux with some fonts and some computers. The vertical positions are shifted and your edit commands go to a wrong place. Zeljan saw it in my mini-laptop when we met. It does not happen in my table machine. It starts to work after changing to a mono-spaced font and maybe increasing its size. Regards, Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2012-09-24 00:43 Just like what Juha said, it doesn't happen here after I change the font to something monospace with proper size. The record pointer problem never happens to me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2012-09-24 15:22 Thanks for the tip on the font, I will try changing it, maybe the record point thing is related because of the spacing issue with the font. I will change the font after I get home and report back. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2012-09-25 05:52 well, I tried a bunch of different mono spaced fonts and changed the size from 10 to 12 and from 10 to 8 and nothing helped. It still does the wave like effect and the spacing is off at the caret ---------------------------------------------------------------------- snorkel · 2012-09-25 06:00 ok, I take it back, I looked at the fonts KDE was using and it was using just the plain old monospace, so I set the Lazarus editor to use the same font and size and all the issues went away.
