[Solved]Error during Lazarus 1.0 install lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- guest48180 · 2012-09-05 17:20 I have removed Lazarus 9.30.? and FPC. I did this because I kept getting this error: Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: fpc (>=2.6.0)|fp-compiler (>=2.6.0) And now I still get this error. I don't get it. Why is it always so difficult to do an install on Linux? I run Linux Mint 13 (Mate).  I installed Mint 13 when it came out. Then I installed Lazarus 9.30.? and it was smooth as silk. But now that I want to install the newer Lazarus 1.0, I can't because there's something standing it the way and giving me this fpc version error. I removed FPC and Lazarus via the Software Manager. I thought this wld be good enough. But apparently not. Any help in getting past this error would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2012-09-05 21:18 How did you install FPC? Try running it on cmd line. What is the version number? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Alex Kidd · 2012-09-17 14:04 I'm running Linux Mint 13 (Mate) too. I've got no problem with fpc, in fact I was able to install fpc 2.6.0, but I cannot install lazarus 1.0 because the system says lib-gtk-2.0.dev is needed. If I try to install lib-gtk-2.0, the system complains that it's impossible, since it would break a gazillion of dependencies. I think the reason is Mate. Any idea on how to install Laz 1.0??? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- motaz · 2012-09-17 17:14 I got broken packages after installing Lazarus 1 in Mint DE 64 bit after downloading the three .deb packages.: Lazarus1...deb, fpc..deb and fpc-src...deb Then I removed Lazarus and FPC and I've installed FPC 2.6.0 from Mint repositories, and then I have removed fpc-src package because it gives a dependancy error. Instead there is fpc-source package. Then I installed Lazarus 1 from downloaded .deb file (not from Repository) While that I downloaded the missing lib-gtk.. I don't remember the exact package name. After that every thing does fine.
