problems with installin lazarus on SuSE 12.1

I downloaded the gzip files and compiled Lazarus. It compiled and when
I went to run it it came up. I then created a form and put a button on
it but when I double clicked the button to connect it to it event
handler the runtime hicuped and threw an error message saying that it
could no fine the lresource packeage. Lazarus then froze up and was
unresponsive. Am I missing a configuration switch someplace?

Which gzip?

To install Lazarus on openSuSE 12.1 Simply click below, say yes to
"Yast 1 - Click install" and follow the instructions:

went to the web site and used Yast to install but it came back with an
error on an exasmple I told it to ignore and continued. Problem was
that I did not get all the unit files in the directory it makes it as
far as makefile and after that no more units. Right now I am
downloading the source to unzip and put in the directory to see if
this fixes my problem.

Got a good install   and was able to compile and run a simple program.
I still have one problem though and that is when I close Lazarus i get
the following errors
