Problem with standard packages in 0.9.30.2 from the APT repository lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TurboRascal · 2011-12-16 22:22 After upgrading from 0.9.30 to 0.9.30.2, Lazarus complained about missing packages when I tried to recompile it. Those were the packages I selected for installation when I used the previous version, and among them were some standard packages. After that, I purged every lazarus package and erased all configuration files/dirs, then reinstalled, but I got more or less the same situation, except that the previously uninstallable packages were now completely absent from the install list. After further examination, I've noticed that those components have their directories present, but are missing the package files (lpk's) which they normally had in all previous versions (the last one I have is a 0.9.30.2RC snapshot under /usr/local). Among the "missing" packages are some that are quite essential, here is a short list: lazdaemon, lazthread, h2pas, paradox, lazsvnpkg and I've probably missed a couple more here. Is this a bug (to report), or am I missing something? I've installed all lazarus packages from the repository except qt-ide. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TurboRascal · 2012-01-03 15:08 I forgot to mention the architecture is amd64... Anybody? Anything?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mvampire · 2012-01-06 23:01 I think, .deb packages of Lazarus 0.9.30.2 are crap. For example, I suffer from another problem (http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=20915). What I have done - installed fpc, then downloaded snapshot of 0.9.30.2RC2 from SVN and compiled it (but not installed into the system - I run it from folder with source). If you want to install it to the system, you can try 'checkinstall' instead of 'install' which will make .deb package from the compiled source. Even while using the snapshot, Lazarus is "unable to open the package" for "cgiLaz" and "CGILazIDE". I haven't looked on these packages, because I think I don't need them for my console application. This is however, very bad behaviour, when debs are not usable. I really never understand, why Lazarus releases are even less unstable, than repository snapshots. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TurboRascal · 2012-01-06 23:46 Heh, I know of that bug, I reported it Since I was unable to find a reasonable explanation for the behavior I've described, nor anyone responded, I think I should report a bug for this too... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TurboRascal · 2012-01-15 03:20 Please someone confirm this is not a "feature" or some oversight on my side, so I can report the bug... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TurboRascal · 2012-02-13 00:14 I've reported it here. I haven't got any feedback, but since there were several more complaints on the forum, I guess it is a bug. Nobody of those said they've reported this already, so I hope it's not a duplicate.
