The 64 bit version will have amd in the name. How to Install (tested on Ubuntu 10.04 -64 Bit) ======== 1. Copy the tarballs for the FPC and Lazarus IDE to the home folder. 2. Run sudo apt-get install -f in a terminal. Any pending updates will be completed, wait for updates to be completed. 3. Untar the files one by one into individual folders, one for FPC and other for Lazarus IDE. You now have two folders full of .deb files. 4. In a terminal use cd command and go into the fpc folder, and run  sudo dpkg -i *     This will install FPC into your system.     Do the same for the Lazarus files. 5. Now both FPC and Lazarus have been installed into your system. Additional Notes: ========== In 0.9.30 version there is an issue with permissions, you have to start lazarus as root to compile and build the IDE. If this is not done permission errors could occur. To run Lazarus as root, run this in a terminal sudo /usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.30/startlazarus Hope this was helpful. thanks nm
