[partially solved] Cannot run Lazarus after rebuild for QT (KDE, Oxygen) lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pik33 · 2011-08-10 13:04 0.9.31 svn 31926 Installed this version of Lazarus on fresh installed  OpenSuse 11.4 x64;  added libQt4Pas.so.5.2.4. Lazarus starts ok and works ok with gtk2, compiling and linking for qt also worked OK. When I am trying to run Lazarus rebuilt for QT, it displays all its windows, and then "Access violation" window. QuoteAccess violation. Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption. Press Cancel to kill the program. After OK , this window reappears, after Cancel Lazarus closes. ---- Edit: something is wrong with this installation of linux. Older Lazarus, which I tested earlier with qt/OpenSuse 11.4 and was OK, doesn't work there, too ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2011-08-10 14:55 -mstackrealign problem? read this ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pik33 · 2011-08-10 16:16 Maybe I should try this: Quoteyou should not use the provided binaries but compile yourself the binding on your distribution. (..tomorrow...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaazen · 2011-08-10 20:17 Where did you take "libQt4pas.so" ? From your distro repositories or you downloaded it yourself ? I can only say that I downloaded it myself and I have In my /usr/lib: libQt4pas.so libQt4pas.so.5 libQt4pas.so.5.2 libQt4pas.so.5.2.4 (the first three are symlinks to the last one) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pik33 · 2011-08-11 05:55 Tried 5.2.4 from http://users.telenet.be/Jan.Van.hijfte/qtforfpc/fpcqt4.html 5.2.1 from the same page and 5.2.1 from OpenSuse repositories. All of these causes this error So. I'll try to recompile source package on this machine, maybe it will help. ----------- Edit: Recompiled bindings from source - error. Logged out, then started Gnome session instead of KDE. Ran Lazarus-qt and it works !!! Something is wrong  with my KDE and it causes this error. ----------- Edit : It works! after I changed style from Oxygen to Plastik ! Lazarus-qt is incompatible with KDE Oxygen style Is this bug known? Is it Lazarus bug - or KDE bug? ------------------------------------- Edit: this is known bug: 0019782: IDE crashes with QT as widgetset and oxygen theme selected ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2011-08-11 08:56 QuoteLazarus-qt is incompatible with KDE Oxygen styleBlame KDE please... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaazen · 2011-08-11 09:01 QuoteLazarus-qt is incompatible with KDE Oxygen style If you look on bugtracker, there were some oxygen-only reports in past. So, yes, oxygen is more problematic then other themes. But in general, it usually works well with Lazarus. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pik33 · 2011-08-11 09:07 I know... I use KDE since 2.0 and until 4.0 it was great;but KDE4 is a heap of...... Until 4.5 it was unusable at all - I had to install KDE 3.5 on top of newer OpenSuse distros. Switched now to OpenSuse 11.4/KDE 4.6. Maybe it's time to change environment...
