I have an error:This set of options to build Lazarus is not supported by this installation. The directory "/usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.30/lcl" is not writable. See the Lazarus website for other ways to install Lazarus. I download fpc &lazarus deb packeges from Free Pascal not use SVN to download,Does it matter? What should I do ?Thank you ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nicke85 · 2011-08-04 08:36 hello Jonathan, just need to define paramether for that folder to be writable. Here is code Code: [Select]sudo chmod 777 -R /usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.30/lcl or better way to setup lazarus is to give whole 0.9.30 folder to be writable ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2011-08-04 14:22 Quote from: nicke85 on August 04, 2011, 10:36:46 amjust need to define paramether for that folder to be writable. Actually, this is not such a good idea. On Linux, you need to launch Lazarus with su (="administrator") privileges. Use the sudo command. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nicke85 · 2011-08-04 15:09 Quote from: Troodon on August 04, 2011, 04:22:46 pmActually, this is not such a good idea. Troodon I didn't know that lazarus need to be launched like root on linux,I'll do Code: [Select]sudo chmod +s ./lazaruson my svn instalaton of fpc and lazarus as soon as posible Jonathan u need cross compiled binutils to cross compile on lazarus here is same article for arm-linux http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Setup_Cross_Compile_For_ARM http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?topic=8084.0 also i tried it before and it works like a charm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike.Cornflake · 2011-08-04 18:54 G'day, Just been through this myself - guessing you installed Lazarus through a rpm? Running lazarus through SUDO works, but all files for projects you create are now owned by root.  You keep needing to run chmod your code if you need to access this code from another machine (I use various VM's). What I've just done is a hack I guess, but it seems to be working... 1.  Copy the entire /usr/lib64/lazarus folder to ~/lazarus-0.9.30.  (or /usr/lib32/lazarus I guess - you'll find it, and feel free to name your destination folder as you see fit) 1.5.  Ensure the newly copied folder is owned by you.  Was for me. 2.  run lazarus from your new folder as a normal user 3.  From Lazarus, edit your environment options and set the Lazarus folder to your new folder. 4.  Exit lazarus, then re-run lazarus from your new folder (turns out this is an important step - just changing the folder doesn't appear to update all of the references within the IDE when you re-run lazarus) 5.  (Optional) set up a launcher on your desktop pointing to lazarus in your new folder. You should now be able to re-build lazarus without needing to be logged in as root or su. During step 4 I also hand checked all files in ~/.lazarus to ensure they were all pointing to the new folder - I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary, but there may be some references in your configuration, so probably worth a going over. Sounds like I'm not that sure?  Yup - winging this as I go along :-)  Worked for me though :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonathan · 2011-08-05 03:06 I use the script from http://wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Setup_Cross_Compile_For_ARM to reinstall .I dont have the error ! Thank you everyone!
