Unable to crosscompile under linux for arm... lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- michelinok · 2011-01-09 20:59 Hi there! I've just installed lazarus for arm crosscompile using the script provided in the wiki. Th installation went ok, no errors, but i try to compile a simple .pas source i get this: michele@michele-desktop:~/Scrivania/test$ fpc -Tlinux -Parm pippo.pas Free Pascal Compiler version 2.5.1 [2011/01/09] for arm Copyright (c) 1993-2010 by Florian Klaempfl Target OS: Linux for ARMEL Compiling pippo.pas Assembling test pippo.pas(7,41) Error: Assembler /home/michele/lazarus/fpc/binutils/as not found, switching to external assembling pippo.pas(7,41) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping Fatal: Compilation aborted Error: /usr/local/bin/ppcarm returned an error exitcode (normal if you did not specify a source file to be compiled) I've checked and "as" is present in the /home/michele/lazarus/fpc/binutils/ folder and binutils IS installed. What can i check? Many thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Laksen · 2011-01-09 21:48 Does as have the x flag set? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- michelinok · 2011-01-10 07:07 Quote from: Laksen on January 09, 2011, 10:48:27 pmDoes as have the x flag set? yes,it does. (of course...it's executable and so on...all the flags are ok). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Laksen · 2011-01-10 07:12 Try calling fpc with -a too, and then see if you can assemble manually(call as on the generated .s file(s)) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- michelinok · 2011-01-10 18:03 Quote from: Laksen on January 10, 2011, 08:12:14 amTry calling fpc with -a too, and then see if you can assemble manually(call as on the generated .s file(s)) michele@michele-desktop:~/Scrivania/test$ fpc -Tlinux -Parm -a pippo.s Free Pascal Compiler version 2.5.1 [2011/01/09] for arm Copyright (c) 1993-2010 by Florian Klaempfl Target OS: Linux for ARMEL Compiling pippo.s pippo.s(1,3) Fatal: Syntax error, "BEGIN" expected but "." found Fatal: Compilation aborted Error: /usr/local/bin/ppcarm returned an error exitcode (normal if you did not specify a source file to be compiled) michele@michele-desktop:~/Scrivania/test$ The .s file is generated (i've taken a look...for me it's asm code) Any idea? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Laksen · 2011-01-10 21:39 Yes, call fpc -Tlinux -Parm -a pippo.pas THEN as -opippo.o pippo.s It was meant as a suggestion of how to test whether as worked. This won't solve your problem, it'll only tell you whether as works for arm, or works at all
