error when installing TRichView lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarcusM · 2010-11-14 13:54 Hi, I use Ubuntu 10.04. I am trying to install the TRichView component but am having troubles. I open the lazrichview.lpk file & compile with no problem. Next, I click install and a "Ambiguous unit found" popup window is displayed stating: "The unit sqlitecomponenteditor exists twice in the unit path of the IDE" Below that it lists 2 paths to sqlitecomponenteditor.ppu both of which are in /home/username/.lazarus/lib [segue] I have since tried moving one of the offending folders (I did this for both separately) out of that directory and onto my desktop. However, Lazarus adds a copy of it right back. [/segue] on the "Ambiguous unit found" window I click ignore. It proceeds until it stops on the last line of Lazarus.pp with the following displayed in the messages window: Quote/usr/bin/ld: warning: /home/username/.lazarus/bin/link.res contains output sections; did you forget -T? /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsqlite /usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.28.2/ide/lazarus.pp(129,1) Error: Error while linking /usr/lib/lazarus/0.9.28.2/ide/lazarus.pp(129,1) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping I don't know what to do. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marcov · 2010-11-14 17:19 That last bit sounds like you need to install sqllite and/or its development package. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarcusM · 2010-11-14 18:08 Thanks for responding. When I first started using Lazarus early last month i installed the following Code: [Select]sudo apt-get install libsqlite3-dev I've been successfully using sqlite ever since. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MarcusM · 2010-11-20 12:28 *bump* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Leledumbo · 2010-11-21 02:27 QuoteI have since tried moving one of the offending folders (I did this for both separately) out of that directory and onto my desktop. QuoteI've been successfully using sqlite ever sinceNormally if you're installing a (debian) package containing libraries it would be installed in /usr/lib, try locate-ing / find-ing sqlite.so.X. Wherever it is, try running: sudo ldconfig and reinstall the (lazarus) richview package.
