QuoteCompiling srceditorintf.pas srceditorintf.pas(180,40) Fatal: Syntax error, ";" expected but "const string" found the relevant lin in srceditorinf.pas Code: [Select] function SourceEditorIntfWithFilename(const Filename: string): TSourceEditorInterface;              deprecated {$IFDEF VER2_5}'use SourceEditorManagerIntf'{$ENDIF};   // deprecated in 0.9.29 March 2010can't see the eroor, anyone able to help please. Regards Dave ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2010-06-24 15:21 Which exact version of FPC do you use? somewhere in 2.5.1 deprecated was extended to allow a string- constant/message to be given to the deprecated keyword. If you use a 2.5.1 version that does not yet support this, you need to upgrade your fpc. If you use 2.4 this should not be a problem, since the IFDEF prevents the string from being compiled. If you use lower than 2.4 => no idea => not supported ---- Alternatively just remove all the string constants from the source. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- davesimplewear · 2010-06-24 18:45 Hi Martin I use FPC 2.5.1 I found that the error related to the code treating the deprecated statement as a const, sometimes you don't see the forest for the trees, thanks for your help and insight. now solved.
