problems porting "procedure variables" from Delphi

See attached code.  This code works in Delphi 2007, but not with
Lazarus.  The compiler error occurs at line 49.

Any idea how to work around this?

try replacing
   DoManyTimes(DoTheGetChar);
with
   DoManyTimes(@DoTheGetChar);
