Problem with Lazarus in Fedora 13 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gilsonalencar · 2010-06-13 17:39 >:(After Lazarus installation in Fedora 13 (stable version), when I trie to open my project a message "Access Violation" appears. The same message occurs too when I select project manager and other function in menu. Is there some solution to fix it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2010-06-13 18:45 Yes, upgrade to the daily rpm build (3 files). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gilsonalencar · 2010-06-13 19:17 I did. But I thought the daily rpm build very unstable. Malfunctions were detected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2010-06-13 19:29 What kind of malfunctions? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- gilsonalencar · 2010-06-13 20:12 In my project a chart component is used. It is working well with 0.9.28.2 Lazarus release. But with the last rpm build doesn't. I don't know about changes in the chart component from 0.9.28 to 0.9.29 release. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2010-06-14 05:17 Then uninstall the 3 fedora rpms, download, and reinstall the generic stable rpms (0.9.28 + 2.2.4) from the downloads section. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Loesje · 2010-06-14 08:56 You should file a bug for fedora. But there are hardly any differences between the Fedora rpm's and the 'official' ones on this website. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- olddelphiuser · 2010-06-30 18:36 I have the same problem. I am on my second go around trying this. I just uninstalled the three packages. rpm -e lazarus; rpm -e fpc; rpm -e fpc-src.. No error messages. I downloaded the three base files from sourceforge.. I installed fpc and fpc-src without problems lazarus said that I needed gdk-pixbuf. I did yum install pixbuf it installed and then gave me a bunch of errors on my system.. cairo-devel-1.8.10fc13.i686 has missing requires of freetype-devel >=('0',9.7.3 None) ...... of pkgconfig fontconfig -devel .... libxfont-devel libXft-devel pango-devel xulrunner-devel I then installed lazarus with rpm -Uhv xxxx I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.. "Access is denied" whenever I go to compiler options. I noticed that my directories show "lclxxxx" , When I tried to add the light network component package. It would not rebuild lazarus because "LCLxxx" file was not found. I am stuck and can't get it to run under Fedora 13 thanks  robert ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cjhs22a · 2010-07-01 02:52 I successfully installed Lazarus on a Fedora 13 system by doing the following.  Note: I didn't first try to install Lazarus from the Fedora repositories. 1. use yum to install: gdk-pixbuf, gdk-pixbuf-devel, mysql-devel 2. install fpc-2.2.4-0.x86_64.rpm, fpc-src-2.2.4-0.x86_64.rpm, and lazarus-0.9.28-0.x86_64.rpm from sourceforge craig ---------------------------------------------------------------------- olddelphiuser · 2010-07-01 03:42 I tried erasing all the packages and reinstalling per Craig's suggestion. It did not work. I had the same problem. I then noticed that he was using the xx64 rpms. My system doesn't allow that, it says the package is intended for x86_64 architecture. I am reluctant to reload the 64 bit version of Fedora as I run a key 'old' application and I suspect it won't run under the 64 bit version?? Am I missing something? any other ideas? Gilson, the original poster emailed me and said that he too had still not been able to install it under Fedora. He is running it under Debian right now. thanks robert ---------------------------------------------------------------------- olddelphiuser · 2010-07-01 16:56 I downloaded the snapshot 9.29 and the fpc, uninstalled what I had and installed the new. It fixed the problem. I now have 9.29 question where did the compiler options go?.. I will search for the answer and if I can't find it  post it somewhere else. If anybody comes up with a way of installing the stable release please let me know. Thanks Robert
