HELP Lazarus crashes after installing SdpoSerial package on Ubuntu lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arximidis · 2010-05-07 05:00 Hello, I have problem with lazarus on Ubuntu I have no problems with installation. It just works fine But when I install SdpoSerial (5dpo) I have the following problem: The installation and the rebuild are completed successfully, but when lazarus starts it crashes with no visible error messages. The only message I have from the command line is: The program 'lazarus' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.   (Details: serial 8448 error_code 8 request_code 62 minor_code 0)   (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;    that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.    To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line    option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful    backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) If I reinstall lazarus then is working again but without loading SdpoSerial package. If i try again then I have the same problem. I tested an older version and the newer version of SdpoSerial with the same effect ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arximidis · 2010-05-08 03:30 I found out what was going on and I completely solved the problem. Now everything is working Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- luk2009 · 2010-05-08 23:09 what the problem was? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- arximidis · 2010-05-10 17:28 One unit of my program seemed to cause the problem. I don't know why, but when I removed it the problem was solved. Because lazarus remembers the last loaded application it was crashing during start up. The weird thing is that the problematic unit was a simple about form (the form we write about the program, the programmer etc). Thank God it was that and I didn't lose any precious code P.S. Sorry for my bad English ---------------------------------------------------------------------- luk2009 · 2010-05-10 20:10 Puedes ir a entorno, opciones y desmarcar la opcion Abrir ultimo proyecto al iniciar. www.delphiaccess.com  busca foro lazarus. si es que tu idioma es espanol You can go to environment, options and uncheck the option Open last project on startup.
