I did install UBUNTU 10.04 = great, but every time I try to run Lazarus it raises a message: '"/usr/share/fpcsrc/2.4.0/" does not look correct' How to solve this ? Thank you ! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2010-05-01 15:01 you need to adjust that manually in environment|options|environment|files every time you upgrade lazarus/fpc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- caixiaobai · 2010-05-18 10:46 Quote from: Troodon on May 01, 2010, 05:01:20 pmyou need to adjust that manually in environment|options|environment|files every time you upgrade lazarus/fpc. I have the same problem too! I installed fpc_src fpc_doc etc.. without finding the file /usr/share/fpc ,so weird by the way /usr/lib/fpc/ exits on my system . when i adjust environment|options|source to /usr/lib/fpc/  it still throw out a error seems the source file position not correct but this time lazarus can compile the empty form . Then i tried to add a event to the unit (just double click the form ) a error appeared saying the "TDefaultComponent" not found .  so boring! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dfeher · 2010-05-18 15:58 After you have the FPC sources installed the correct directory is: /usr/share/fpcsrc/$(FPCVER)/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- caixiaobai · 2010-05-19 05:48 Have you solved your problem ?finalist . Just exactly the same,if no this post exists here,I am starting to write the same post now. Anybody have fixed the problem? Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2010-05-20 23:31 Okay, guys, it's actually seamless on Ubuntu. Just restart from the beginning: - fire up Synaptic and uninstall everything that is called lazarus*, fp-*, and fpc* (your personal project files will not be changed) - install the Lazarus metapackage; this should download everything that is needed (multiple packages) from the repositories; you should now have lazarus 0.9.26 and fpc 2.2.0 installed - add the Ubuntu repositories in Synaptic as per http://wiki.lazarus.f reepascal.org/Getting_Lazarus#Getting_Lazarus_from_our_Ubuntu_reposito ry, click Reload in Synaptic then mark/accept all upgrades and click Apply; you should now have lazarus 0.9.28 and fpc 2.2.4 installed (you might have already gotten those versions in the previous step but it's a good idea to have the Ubuntu repositories added anyway) - optionally download a daily shapshot from http://www.hu.freepascal.org/lazarus/ ; you will need two package sets: fpc debs and Lazarus debs, they are both tar archives that contain multiple deb packages. Untar them in the same directory and open a terminal window in that directory then issue dpkg -i *.deb and wait for the upgrade to complete; you should now have lazarus 0.9.29 and fpc 2.4.0 installed - launch lazarus from the menu; you will probably get the famous error message regarding the wrong fpc source directory; just edit the environment options as per the version of the fpc source that you now have! (if you have doubts then have a quick look in /usr/lib/lazarus; BTW, the fpc directories, including the source, should be under the lazarus directory) If you are a beginner with either Lazarus/FPC or Linux then please do not install from source and choose the official, stable release. If you did install from source then go back to the directory where you first launched configure, run `configure' again, and then run `make uninstall'. Then you can install the .deb packages using Synaptic. Good luck! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Goodman H__ · 2010-05-21 04:25 Quote from: Troodon on May 21, 2010, 01:31:32 amOkay, guys, it's actually seamless on Ubuntu. I fixed the problem and my copy of Lazarus works pretty fine now. Really Appreciate!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Terry O · 2010-08-31 04:35 New to Linux/Ubuntu(today) and Lazarus, had the same problem. It appears that the Ubuntu Software Center does not install the FPC source files with Lazarus. The Solution: Search Ubuntu Software Center for FPC and install the source files. The path from the Lazarus install should be: "/usr/share/fpcsrc/$(FPCVER)/" Hope this helps...
