I have a problem with order of tabulation lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- erector · 2010-04-08 16:16 Hello. I'm using OpenSuSE Linux 11.2, Lazarus 0.9.28, fpc 2.2.4. I have a problem with order of tablulation in component TDBLookupComboBox. Then I press [Tab] cursor situated in this combobox cannot jump in next component, Why? Component TEdit has not this problem, If we press [Tab] in TEdit1 cursor is jumping in TEdit2 (or another nex component in order list) without a problem, But TDBLookupComboBox has not any affect, Please, help, if you had had this problem. Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mas steindorff · 2010-04-10 00:29 I'm not sure about OpenSuSE for the TDBLookupComboBox details but the tab order is as simple as setting the TabOrder property.  the order starts with 0 for the form and goes up as you add stuff.  a value of -1 disables the components' "tab to" option.  I use this option a lot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JuhaManninen · 2010-04-11 05:34 With Lazarus trunk version under OpenSuSE Linux 11.2 it works well. Juha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- erector · 2010-04-11 18:10 Ok. I'll try to draw my problem. I have some edits and DBLookupCombobox. My tabulation is realized in this way below in picture (at first times on blue directions, and then to red at beginning). It is not jumping in next edit, which situated after Combobox. I am angry for this on Lazarus  May be i did not any of properties in object inspector right? Your tip had not any result... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- eny · 2010-04-11 18:13 Set the TabStop property to false for the bottom control. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- erector · 2010-04-12 00:04 i had a try this method. But it helps at half: [Tab]-button misses this ComboBox and stands at next element. I need not miss it, it's a pity ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoran · 2010-04-12 05:16 Quote from: erector on April 12, 2010, 02:04:16 am[Tab]-button misses this ComboBox and stands at next element. This means that ComboBox will receive focus, but bottom control („Data post“ edit) will not. That is what you want, isn't it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wodzu · 2010-04-12 10:48 Quote from: Zoran on April 12, 2010, 07:16:54 am This means that ComboBox will receive focus, but bottom control („Data post“ edit) will not. That is what you want, isn't it? No, I think he meant that when the TDBLookUpCombobox has received focus and he want to jump to the next \ last (bottom) TEdit he can't do this. The TAB button doesn't work as expected when TDBLookUpComboBox is focused. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- erector · 2010-04-12 11:23 QuoteThe TAB button doesn't work as expected when TDBLookUpComboBox is focused And nothing else can do? Is it the solve of problem is only breaking Combobox out of tab-order? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoran · 2010-04-12 11:33 I hope I understand correctly the problem now. Actually you do want the focus to jump to the bottom control, but now it skips it, wright? The focus jumps from combo box to first control, which is not what you want. Make sure that the bottom control's TabStop property is set to True, then right-click somewhere on the form and chose "Tab Order...". See if you should arrange the order. Or there is really a bug... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoran · 2010-04-12 11:38 I tried now to put several Edit controls and one DBLookupComboBox on a form. Everything workds as expected, you might have done something wrong, after all. If you still cannot achieve what you intend to, please upload a small sample aplication which behaves wrong. Edit: I tried now on windows only, I don't have Linux here at work. In the afternoon I will try it on Kubuntu at home, if you don't solve the problem until then. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wodzu · 2010-04-12 11:39 erector, It works here as expected (but under Windows which might have a very big meaning). If Zoran's suggestion doesn't work I would strongly recommend you to try latest SVN snapshot and see how it works. Maybe the problem has been already solved in some later version than yours.
