Running apps on embedded Linux? lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lguy2000 · 2010-04-05 16:00 What is the strategy for developing apps in Lazarus so that they run on Linux embedded in small modules?  Is it doable to compile them under Ubuntu 9, running x86, and then copy them to the embedded board (which might be running ARM or Marvel or whatever)?  Any suggestions would be much appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocye · 2010-04-06 09:08 You can compile your project to every installed OS/CPU-target. I like to test my application on the main PC and transfer it later to the ARM device. But I read somewhere that compiling the source code directly on the ARM device was possible too. It takes much longer in that way but with the advantage not to need a cross compiler. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Breneman · 2010-04-07 21:05 Depends a lot on your embedded module.  See my main page and the link to using FreePascal for embedded systems.  I have two links near the top of that page to several modules that work for me. Also see the environment monitoring project for minimal FreePascal distributions you can easily try on a module.
