Error: Unknown command-line parameter : -a lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thierrybo · 2010-01-17 10:37 Hi, since I installed fpc 2.4.0 in my home directory to compile lazarus svn, it fails on this error "Error: Unknown command-line parameter : -a", either with make or from Lazarus build menu: Quotemake clean all FPC=/home/thierrybo/Sys/local/opt/fpc/2.4.0/bin/fpc ... Compiling resource ../units/x86_64-linux/lazarus.or Error: Unknown command-line parameter : -a fpcres - Free Pascal Resource to ELF object compiler ... I did  not found many online ressources on this. I did not build fpc 2.4 from sources but installed the binaries from http://www.freepascal.org/down/x86_64/linux-ftp.freepascal.org.var Quote(Download in 1 big file:     * fpc-2.4.0.x86_64-linux.tar (36 MB) contains a standard tar archive, with an install script       After untarring the archive into a temporary location, you can run the install script by issuing the command "sh install.sh". ) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wadlax · 2010-01-23 12:05 I have also encountered such problem. Try to search your /usr dir for "fpcres". I have found 2 of them. /usr/local/bin/fpcres (2007.05.05) /usr/bin/fpcres (2010.01.22) If you call NEW fpcres - you will see, that it supports -a flag. So i just decided to "rm /usr/local/bin/fpc*" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thierrybo · 2010-01-23 14:32 thanks, I have only one in /usr/bin/fpcres (2009.06.03 634,4k) This one comes from fp-utils 2.2.4-3 package from www.hu.freepascal.org debian/ubuntu repository. However there is a new one in ~/Sys/local/opt/fpc/2.4.0/bin/fpcres that supports -a option. If I replace /usr/bin/fpcres with ~/Sys/local/opt/fpc/2.4.0/bin/fpcres as you did, is this safe for the "regular" Lazarus operations?
