Can't find unit interfaces on Fedora 12 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tmecs · 2009-12-31 02:48 I just installed Lazarus and fpc on Fedora 12.  I put in a simple program to try it out and got aan error message that it can't find the user interface.  I looked thru all the threads and tried all of the solutions discussed for them and still can't get it working.  I have attached a screenshot of the screen where it is showing the error.  Any Help would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- skalogryz · 2009-12-31 09:54 Tools->Quick Build Options->Build LCL press "Build" button try to rebuild the project again ---------------------------------------------------------------------- v-t-l · 2009-12-31 10:04 Hi, skalogryyz! Hello from freepascal.ru! I think it wouldn't enough. If Lazarus was installed from RPMs, tmecs should launch Lazarus as root to do that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- skalogryz · 2009-12-31 10:54 Quote from: v-t-l on December 31, 2009, 11:04:23 amI think it wouldn't enough. I have the exact same problem on fc12; I downloaded the rpms from sourceforge, but fpc and lazarus do not appear to be compatible. This is not a problem relating to permissions or gtk.  As it happens I have 2 fedora 12 boxes to play with and with one the installation worked fine, the other did not.  On closer examination this turned out to be because fpc on the one that worked was downlevel. The machine I wish to install Lazarus on is not, unfortunately, the one that works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- huwmungous · 2010-02-06 15:32 temecs is correct. I downloaded and built the lazarus sources and all is working correctly now. http://www.sfr-fresh.com/unix/misc/lazarus-0.9.28.2-src.tar.gz/ It is a great pity that the Fedora install was such a sweat when the Windows product worked 'out of the box'.
