Non-cryptic Install Lazarus/FPC on Kubuntu

Is there a simplified installation package of Lazarus into Linux
(Kubuntu preferred) much like installing Delphi in Windows? Being a
newbie in Kubuntu I found the learning curve to be very steep and the
anxiety is compounded by the cryptic installation of Lazarus/FPC. I
tried the package by PilotLogic but I got errors that I just could not
resolve. Getting a response from the PilotLogic forum is not as fast
enough as what I desire. So I am here at this forum as my last resort.
Your helping hand is much appreciated.
