strange SIGABRT with VirtualTreeView @ Lazarus 64bit lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocye · 2009-10-24 09:29 I'm using Lazarus 0.9.29 r22026M, FPC 2.5.1 x86_64-linux-gtk 2 (beta) with VirtualTreeView from SVN. It has been integrated well into Lazarus and works if I use it within a new application. To apply VTV in my existing project, I created a new form, dropped VirtualStringTree onto and tried to compile. No error, but on creation the program crashes. It crashes too if I create VTV dynamically. The project is quite complex, with GlScene, Synapse and multithreading, and therefore hard to find any reason in my code. Of course, without VTV no error occurs. I debugged it up to constructor TBaseVirtualTree.Create(AOwner: TComponent); -> procedure InitializeGlobalStructures; -> ConvertImageList(LightCheckImages, 'VT_CHECK_LIGHT'); I get this messages in the console: *** glibc detected *** ./Scrabble3D: free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x00000000014d2ce0 *** I'm not using glibc. Maybe there is a problem with VTV and 64bit. On the other hand it runs perfectly for new applications. I'm quite confused  Under XP_32bit (within a virtual maschine) all works as expected. I noticed that the property Text isn't available with Linux but can be written correctly by Windows and changes are then shown for Linux as well (unfortunately in design mode only, it still crashes on creation). What can I do? TIA, Ocye. PS: Got no response at Soft Gems Forum. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocye · 2009-10-28 08:02 VTV converts on start some bitmaps from ressources ConvertImageList(). Thereby several TMemoryStream are created and the SIGSEV is raised by ImgWriter.Free; in procedure TFPImageBitmap.WriteStream(AStream: TMemoryStream);. The pointer of ImgWriter as well as the content seems to be valid (same as before in FinalizeWriter). Maybe it's an FPC issue... To use VTV I commented all ConvertImageList() and all runs well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-10-28 08:28 There is a newer port of VirtualTreeView See here: http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,7183.msg33777.html#m sg33777 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LuizAmérico · 2009-10-28 09:36 QuoteThere is a newer port of VirtualTreeView Be aware that this port is also not tested in win64. The problem that may rise is the Set/KillTimer implementation (see LCLExtensions package) that expects THandle to be 32bit. I would be glad if someone with a 64bit system could fix it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocye · 2009-10-28 13:07 At least SVN was not changed since my first installation. It's still revision 989. BTW: FPC & Lazarus are freshly updated from SVN as well.
