fedora 11 install from yum, only flashes welcome screen lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- olddelphiuser · 2009-10-13 03:05 I want to try Lazarus / fpc on linux fedora 11, gnome. I installed it with yum install lazarus. It appeared to all work fine. When I try to run it, the flash screen shows and then nothing. If I run it from a terminal : /usr/lib/lazarus/startlazuus. It does the same thing with the following warnings: Out of OEM specific VK codes.... Out of unassigned VK codes, assignging $FF... Tmain.IDE.ParseCmdlineOptions:PrimaryConfigPath='/media/.lazarus SecondaryConfigPath='/etc/lazarus" Note miscellaneous option file not found using defaults Note codetools config file not found using defaults ...................... if I do a ps-a it shows up as running process. What am I missing??? thanks robert note /media/ is my home directory (don't ask, but that is where I need it for an old app) -- robert bible, October 13, 2009 02:12 AM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2009-10-13 08:47 maybe it is running on a different display ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- olddelphiuser · 2009-10-16 19:55 I can't find it on any other display. I did the same install on another fedora machine and everything worked fine. But I can't figure out what is wrong on this machine.. Regards ecch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- olddelphiuser · 2009-10-16 22:27 It works under root. I noticed that the file manager was doing strange things. I booted from the installation disk and then ran  badblocks /dev/sda2 >test  (sda2 is the disk)  fsck -t ext3 -l test /dev/sda2  answered yes when it said on a mounted drive. It modified the disk.  the file manager started acting right and Lazarus started working. Here is its startup you can see where it was hung before. root@localhost media]# /usr/bin/startlazarus [WARNING] Out of OEM specific VK codes, changing to unassigned [WARNING] Out of unassigned VK codes, assigning $FF TLazarusManager.Run starting /usr/lib/lazarus/lazarus ...
