file.file lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BobD · 2009-08-30 01:46 what is the purpose of file.file? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-08-30 08:15 Quote from: BobD on August 30, 2009, 03:46:43 amwhat is the purpose of file.file? Where do you see that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BobD · 2009-08-30 14:47 ^ It's a file that was created by lazarus the first time I ran it after installation ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theo · 2009-08-30 18:06 No idea. I have no file.file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BobD · 2009-08-30 19:48 Not only did laz create file.file but when I deleted it, laz told me it couldn't find file.file and asked if it should create it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2009-08-30 22:41 So what is the content of it? Where is it located? Have you got any extra package installed? And what OS are you on? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BobD · 2009-08-31 21:04 file.file is located in my home directory.  i'm running pclinuxos. contents follows:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           /usr/lib/lazarus/                                                             ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin_fr · 2009-08-31 22:08 this looks like a project / project-session file to me. Normally ProjectName.lpi I don't know why your Lazarus insists on file.file. However, once you saved a project, Lazarus remembers (in enviromentoptions.xml), so it can re-open the project next time. (But I tested, that doesn't normally ask if the file doesn't exist) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BobD · 2009-09-01 01:10 On mine when I open lazarus I get a message box that says it doesn't exist and asks to create it.  If I say yes, it creates it and loads it as part of the default project. If I then select New --> Application I get a new default app without file.file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marc · 2009-09-01 09:08 open a terminal in the dir where your project is located and run the commandCode: [Select]grep -iIR "file.file" *
