I need an exact alternative for WinAPI function CompareString (locale
dependent comparison). Is there something like this in Linux? Or where
I can find some 'Linux MSDN' that describes the complete API? Thx

Hi Tk
A quick search in Lazarus directory came up with 25 files containing
'comparestring', in LCL, CodeTools and other dirs... Have a look and
see if something fits your needs...

Thanks,
unfortunately it all appears to be Windows only stuff. I need a locale
dependent comparison routine on all supported Widgetsets (and an
interface with the locale identifiers like constants for MakeLCID
macro on Win). It seems not to be implemented in Lazarus but I guess
there must be such stuff for all other OSs, I think these are well
internationalized.

Have a look at unit cwstring (WS-manager / Linux).
Does probably not what you need, but it's a start.
