TIdIPWatch does not work in Lazarus - Error 232 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- postzero · 2009-07-09 00:09 Hello! My OS is Linux CentOS 5.3 and I use Lazarus 0.9.26.2 beta FPC version 2.2.2. I've created empty project and put the only component TIdIPWatch on the only form. When I set its property "Active" to "True" in Object Inspector, and run, I see "Error 232". If I set "Active" to "False" I see not this error. Any suggestion. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cpalx · 2009-07-09 03:31 i use that component to get the ipadress historyEnabled := true ACtive:= true IdIPWatch.CurrentIP and goes, good ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-07-09 06:56 Run time error 232 means that the threading supppoort is not enabled. It seems that the package that installs TIdIPWatch does not define -dUseCThreads in its usage options. I've defined -dUseCThreads in indylaz 10.2.0.3 package (Indy 10 - Internet Direct), in its usage options now. I've recompiled this package. And I've built Lazarus. It's said: "LCL" completed "SynEdit" completed "CodeTools" completed "Package Registration" completed "IDE Interface" completed "JIT Form" completed make: Leaving directory `/usr/lib/lazarus/examples' "Restart after successfull build" is checked in 'Configure "Build Lazarus"'. But Lazarus has not restarted. Is it an error? All my code: Code: [Select]unit Unit1; {$mode objfpc}{$H+} interface uses {$ifdef unix}    cthreads,    //cmem, // the c memory manager is on some systems much faster for multithreading {$endif}   Classes, SysUtils, FileUtil, LResources, Forms, Controls, Graphics, Dialogs,   IdIPWatch; type   { TForm1 }   TForm1 = class(TForm)     IdIPWatch1: TIdIPWatch;   private     { private declarations }   public     { public declarations }   end; var   Form1: TForm1; implementation initialization   {$I unit1.lrs} end. Now I see not "Error 232". But I see "Project project1 raised exception class 'EStringListError' with message: List Index (0) out of bounds". Help! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- postzero · 2009-07-11 06:08 I've installed a library gtk2-devel-2.10.4-20.el5.i386. LCL interface is gtk 2 (beta). -dUseCThreads is enabled in indylaz 10.2.0.3 package. Then I've disabled option "Examples" in "Configure 'Build Lazarus'"=>"Advanced Build Options" and have rebuilt Lazarus. Lasarus has restarted successfully. But I have the same error in my application (above) "Project project1 raised exception class 'EStringListError' with message: List Index (0) out of bounds"! I voted for Lazarus in community choice) and Still need Your help...! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-07-11 06:19 I have no idea what goes wrong. Run the application in the IDE and look at the stacktrace when the exception occurs. That might give some information. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- postzero · 2009-07-11 06:31 "Call Stack" says: #0 fpc_raiseexception at :0 #1 CLASSES_TSTRINGS_$__ERROR$ANSISTRING$LONGINT at :0 #2 CLASSES_TSTRINGLIST_$__GET$LONGINT$$ANSISTRING at :0 #3 TIDSTACK__GETLOCALADDRESS(0xb7eef290) at IdStack.pas:475 #4 TIDIPWATCH__LOCALIP(0xb7b21010) at IdIPWatch.pas:288 #5 TIDIPWATCH__CHECKSTATUS(0xb7b21010, 0xb7b21010) at IdIPWatch.pas:182 #6 TIDIPWATCHTHREAD__TIMEREVENT(0xb7f5b390) at IdIPWatch.pas:368 #7 CLASSES_CHECKSYNCHRONIZE$LONGINT$$BOOLEAN at :0 #8 THREADSYNC_IOCALLBACK(0x9c4d540, 1, 0xb7cc30b0) at gtkwidgetset.inc:625 #9 ?? at :0 #10 g_main_context_dispatch at :0 #11 ?? at :0 #12 g_main_context_iteration at :0 #13 gtk_main_iteration_do at :0 #14 TGTKWIDGETSET__APPWAITMESSAGE(0xb7cc30b0) at gtkwidgetset.inc:1253 #15 TAPPLICATION__IDLE(true, 0xb7cbb010) at application.inc:337 #16 TAPPLICATION__HANDLEMESSAGE(0xb7cbb010) at application.inc:1070 #17 TAPPLICATION__RUNLOOP(0xb7cbb010) at application.inc:1180 #18 TWIDGETSET__APPRUN(0x80829e0 , 0xb7cc30b0) at interfacebase.inc:49 #19 TAPPLICATION__RUN(0xb7cbb010) at application.inc:1167 #20 main at project1.lpr:19 Must I report this as a bug, or linux CentOS settings may be wrong? Firewall is turned off, SELINUX is in confirmations mode, for example. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-07-11 08:33 If it is a bug - it may just be wrong use too - it seems to be a Indy bug rather than a Lazarus or FPC bug.
