executable won´t run on other linux computers

Hi!

I have installed today lazarus for linux (am working for some time
with delphi 7/crosskylix)
and compiled just an empty application, only a form without any
buttons or so
and i was suprised to see that the compiled file is 16 megabytes  but
this was not the biggest
problem because the file only runs at the ubuntu8.10 pc where lazarus
is installed and not on any other system, it just dont pop-up when i
click it  no message.. nothing!! so i tried to execute it from the
terminal to see if i get some message and there i got:

 sudo ./project1
Segmentation fault

what does it mean? do i need to install some runtimes or something? or
is the file corrupt

Have it working now, the file was corrupt while sending the 16mb file
over ftp (tried a few times)
but after compressing it and uploading it to the other pc again it
suddenly worked normally
