Rebuilding stable release 0.9.26 w/ gtk2 fails lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2009-02-28 04:44 Upon trying to rebuild Lazarus 0.9.26 w/ gtk2 using "Cleanup + Build all" on Ubuntu 8.10 I get: make: *** No rule to make target `cleanide'. Stop. What gives? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-02-28 08:14 How did you install Lazarus? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Troodon · 2009-02-28 17:00 I installed the Lazarus and FPC packages using Synaptic on Ubuntu 8.10 (upgraded from Ubuntu 8.04) in VirtualBox 2.1.4 on Vista Home Premium SP1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SlackBrane · 2009-02-28 19:26 I don't know if this is the problem but have a look in this thread... http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php?topic=6018.0 In particular Vincent posted... http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,6018.msg28215.html #msg28215 QuoteUbuntu 8.10 has a new version of gtk2. To work with this version, you need fpc 2.2.3 or later. There are no releases of this version yet. There are rpm snapshots though, but no debian snapshots. Maybe Debian SID has a patched version of fpc 2.2.2, that works with these newer gtk2 versions. I don't know if he forgot or whether the statement is still valid and I'd have to hunt harder but I think there is mention elsewhere in the forums that if you use FPC 2.2.3 then you have to have Lazarus 0.9.27.... Various warnings abound about stability. If you do want to do it that way then you might find the following posts helpful.. http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,6288.msg29334.html #msg29334 http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,5648.msg26586.html #msg26586 You might guess I also received the make: *** No rule to make target `cleanide'. Stop. Error. The first post is mine. I wanted to build for QT, same theme (?) as Ubuntu, but got the same error message, both for GTK2 and QT. Having done what I did things, apart from a couple of moans, worked. Mind you I'm in tinkering mode so my experience is not extensive and you do end up with a 'snapshot' rather than 'stable' version.
