Problems compiling Lazarus project on Fedora Core 5 lazarus / 1-Linux ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mylesw · 2009-02-19 18:47 Hi there.  I have followed the installation instructions for Free Pascal & Lazarus 2.2.2 on my Fedora Core 5 system, and I have Lazarus running just fine.  I'm trying to create a simple console application, but when I go to compile it, I'm having problems during compilation.  The specific error appears to be resolving directory path to the units referenced in the uses clause.  In creating a simple default console application, it has: uses   Classes, SysUtils, CustApp On compiling I get the error:  Fatal: Can't find unit CustApp used by Project1 I have tested this as both root user and my user login account I installed Lazarus under.  Both give the identical errors.  I installed FPC, FPC Sources, and Lazarus through RPM on this system and the IDE is working great.  Its just this compilation problem. My environment options->files looks like this: Lazarus Directory:  /usr/lib/lazarus/ Compiler Path:  /usr/bin/fpc FPC Source directory:  /usr/share/fpcsrc/$(FPCVER)/ Make path:  Directory for building test projects:  /tmp/ I read through a few past posts looking for others who have encountered this.  There was reference to incorrect values in fpc.cfg  but when I searched for this file, nothing was found. Any help as to what is wrong would be greatly appreciated. That's the funny thing....  there is no /etc/fpc.cfg file at all. Myles ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Vincent Snijders · 2009-02-19 20:30 Usually this is created by the post install script of a rpm or deb or installer. You can do that manually using the samplecfg script, that comes with fpc. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mylesw · 2009-02-19 20:43 Quote from: Vincent Snijders on February 19, 2009, 09:30:27 pmUsually this is created by the post install script of a rpm or deb or installer. You are my savior!  Thank you.  Yes, I found the samplecfg script and after getting the arguments right for it, it ran and created /etc/fpc.cfg.  Now I am compiling! Thanks again. Myles ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mylesw · 2009-02-19 20:59 I think I spoke too soon....  I progressed past a command line application to a form application.  On compiling it, I'm getting a message: /usr/bin/ld:  cannot find -lglib Error: Error while linking Is there more to install that I haven't done for Fedora here?
