Lazarus with german GUI - wrong special characters

Hi there,

currently I'm evaluating Lazarus on Arch Linux with kde 4.2. I was
able to install, but all Menus of the IDE are distorted because of not
properly displayed german Umlauts. The translation ist there, but all
special characters are wrong. Also generated programs show distorted
german Umlauts.

Id did search the Forum but there seems to be nobody having the same
problem. Am I doing something wrong?
